The Unex Personal Voice Amplifier is a voice amplification system that is sensitive enough to amplify even the faintest of voices, for up to 12 hours.

With an 18 watt digital voice amplifier with pitch modulator providing high power audio output and clear sound quality, the user can control the volume of their own voice in different environments, indoors or outdoors.

Personal Voice Amplifier Instructions

Before use, you will need to charge the voice amplifier. To do this simply plug the charger into the top socket DC 9V (8) on the side of the voice amplifier unit for 3 to 5 hours.

When the voice amplifier is charging, you will see a flashing red light (9). When fully charged, the red light will stop flashing and remain constant until you disconnect the charger. Your voice amplifier is now ready to use for up to 12 hours.

Before plugging in a microphone ensure the unit is switched off. To switch off simply press down on the on/off button (1).
Select the microphone you wish to use – headset or clip on lapel, (or optional throat microphone – not included in this pack), and plug into mic socket (6) on the side of voice amplifier unit.
Switch back on and you will see a blue light (10) and you will also see an orange light (11) which confirms the mic is connected, and the voice amplifier is ready for use.

Always start with a low volume by pressing down on the V– button (4) , and then increase the volume gradually using the V+ (2) button until you reach the required volume.

Avoid the microphone being too close to the voice amplifier speaker as this can trigger feedback interference (a squealing sound) from your speaker (see explanation about feedback on the back page of this leaflet).

Do not hold the microphone any closer than 2.5cm (1”) from your mouth.

You have a choice of headset microphone or clip on microphone. Both have recently been upgraded for better performance.

The clip-on microphone can be clipped onto your lapel, collar, or clothing. You can even clip the microphone onto your cuff (cable can be hidden by running it inside clothing) then simply raise your hand to the proximity of your mouth when you wish to speak. It is also often used as a hand held microphone.

You also have a pitch modulator (5) which enables you to emphasise higher or lower frequencies in your voice. As a rule this is best set at maximum high which will help a soft, husky, or quiet voice become more intelligible to the listener.

The Aux socket (7) on the side of your voice amplifier is for use with your mobile phone or PC. Simply plug one end of the auxiliary cable provided into the Aux socket (7) and the other end into your phone or PC speaker / audio-in socket.

Easy to carry, simple to wear…

Only a whisper is required for the voice amplifier to provide excellent amplification with the boom microphone. Alternatively the clip on lapel can be positioned on or near the lapel providing a more discreet option.

Supplied with a lightweight headband type boom microphone and optional lapel microphone. A necklace and belt clip attachment make the device easy to carry, and simple to wear and remove.

Also has a facility for use with a computer or mobile phone making it all the more versatile for the user.

Designed to help young or elderly people with voice disorders or acquired communication difficulties, that have resulted from Parkinson’s, multiple system atrophy, motor neurone disease, multiple sclerosis, suffering a stroke, or other vocal damage resulting from surgery around the vocal chords or voice box.

For people with a week or strained voice, possibly caused by vocal damage, or for people who rely on projecting their voices for a long period of time and therefore using their voice intensively, this voice amplifier will maintain volume and clarity over that period of time without straining or causing further damage to the voice.
